Article monetization

In my article about Articles and article marketing, I mentioned several techniques that could monetize an article and the ones I used were as follows:-
  1. Including links to affiliate programs
  2. Including AdSense with my article
  3. Including links to other sites that I own that have AdSense on them

I also mentioned a technique that you should use to get people to follow the links you place in your articles. The technique is basic copywriting, pure and simple. The way you mention a page will largely determine whether people will follow a link. If you are like most readers of my article, the reason you clicked on the link to get to this page was because you wanted to know what further information was on this page. The driver was curiousity.

So when you link to your own web page or even to affiliate sites, make sure you create enough interest in your reader to make them take the action you want them to.

A few other resources that might be of interest:-

The Lazy Man's Guide to Article Writing - an ebook about how to write articles and then use them effectively. Goes into a lot more detail than I have.

A good Private Label Site - a source of articles about a wide range of valuable topics, plus some excellent article resources.

A good system for generating websites from articles - mentioned many times before and getting better all the time

A very clever way of using Articles as a means of building a subscriber list (you have to try this to see how it works and there's a demo link on that page)

Don't forget too that if you wish to copy my article and use it on your own site you are welcome to do so provided all the links remain intact. If you are using AdSense, you should find ads that relate to email marketing, lead generation and so on which in general payout quite nicely.

Monetizing articles

I've just completed and posted an article that's really about how to monetize articles. Having added it to one of my sites, I might just cut and paste it here too so as to double the footprint of the article online.

Along with the article I've also posted up some useful article writing tools.

Translation Gold TranslationGold explained

Loads going on as ever and I have to juggle time this week between running AdWords accounts, entertaining my children who have somehow broken up from school already, writing a report on AdSense and communicating with my AdSense newsletter readers.

Today, I'm mentioning a really neat tool that increases your web presence by up to 500% by automating the process of translating your web pages or blog postings into 8 different languages automatically.

Called TranslationGold it's from Jon Leger who has an excellent track record of AdSense related product production and development. The system appears to use Google's own free translation tool to translate up to 1800 words per page. It then takes this translation and converts it into new HTML pages for you that are linked to from your home page using a series of flags to indicate the country in question.

You can see an example at work on Jon's own site. Translation Gold.

I've also been quite quick off the mark (for me!) by registering the blog "translationgold.blogspot.com" and linking that to my affiliate link for the product. I expect that this will generate some income at some point but it raises an interesting issue: what internet real estate to grab when a new product is out.

I think I'll put up a post about that in a while.
